While I definitely agree that luck is very important (not just in start-ups but in life), if Waze wasn't a good enough company with a good enough product then Cook wouldn't have recommended, users wouldn't keep using, and Google wouldn't have bought it. So luck is important but you have to have a good product to back it up otherwise it can only take you so far.
